VIPAR Heavy Duty Adds West Virginia Spring & Radiator

West Virginia Spring & Radiator recently became a VIPAR Heavy Duty distributor. For the Nitro, W.V.-based company, it was a highlight for the 30-plus-year-old business which has had many.

Founded in 1982 by President Clenton Curry, growing the company and establishing it as the region’s premier stop for truck parts and repairs was always his passion.

“He created this place, and this is the love of his life,” said his son and General Manager Brian Curry. “It's something that we've been able to do together through the years and make it grow. For us to become a VIPAR Heavy Duty stockholder, it was a very big achievement for us and rewarded the many things we've done over the years.”

West Virginia Spring & Radiator’s growth has been steady and strategic. It started as a radiator specialist, added suspensions, took on full-line parts distribution, became a service provider and body shop, and now rebuilds gear boxes and transmissions, manufactures drivelines, resurfaces flywheels and fabricates hydraulic hoses. In 2019, the company opened a second, parts-only location in White Sulphur Springs, W.V. and is in the process of opening a third.

“We help customers with just about any aspect of their trucks,” Brian said. “We’ve always been aggressive on growth, but only if it serves our markets and our customers. We take care of every customer, it doesn’t matter if they’ve got one truck or 50, we just want to take care of everybody. Our dedication to customer service is what helps set us apart, and I’m sure if you would call up any of our customers, they would have that same answer.”

Jim Pennig, VIPAR Heavy Duty Family of Companies’ vice president of business development, agrees.

"If a customer calls for help, West Virginia Spring & Radiator does whatever it takes,” Pennig said. “If they don’t have a part, even if it’s afterhours, they’ll find it. They’ve always been motivated to be the number one parts and service provider in the area. This reputation has earned them a very loyal customer and vendor base; and it makes them a perfect fit for VIPAR Heavy Duty.”
