M&D Joins VIPAR Heavy Duty, Adds 41 Locations

M&D recently joined VIPAR Heavy Duty, adding its 80-plus years of diesel engine component manufacturing, remanufacturing and distribution expertise and 41 U.S. locations to the group’s network.

Headquartered near Houston in Humble, Texas, M&D is a leader in serving the aftermarket with complete diesel engine solutions from “fan to flywheel.” In doing so, they help independent distributors and service facilities – as well as the VIPAR Heavy Duty Family of Companies network – provide greater value and choice for end-user customers.

“Every day we wake up and we work toward the goal of pushing more diesel engine market share toward the independents,” said Justin Pasdach, M&D’s vice president of sales, marketing and national accounts. “I think becoming a VIPAR Heavy Duty stockholder will significantly strengthen that mission. The stronger we can work together, the stronger the aftermarket.”

Complementing their steady expansion of locations throughout the U.S. is consistent refinement and growth of the products and services they offer. While being one of the foremost aftermarket diesel engine specialists for nearly a century, focusing on continuous innovation and quality, the company’s expansion in recent years has been nothing short of explosive.

“We’ve quadrupled revenue during the last eight years, largely driven by new locations and broadening our portfolio of the products and services we offer. And we’re not just trying to put dots on the map – that’s not our strategy,” Pasdach said. “That said, we’re not going to slow down. When it makes strategic sense, we’ll continue to grow through acquisition while adding new capabilities.”

Of course, no number of locations, products or services is a guarantee of success. That comes from the people who make it all work.

“I would say the experience and expertise of our team is second to none. If a customer contacts our main call center here in Humble looking for a turbocharger and all they have is the engine serial number, I’m highly confident we will find them the right part and make the sale,” Pasdach said. “That allows us to build very strong customer relationships and that’s what keeps us motivated – the thrill of earning a customer’s business, of overcoming a challenge and finding a way to say ‘yes.’”

If M&D’s success and expansion is any indication, they’ve had the opportunity to say ‘yes’ a lot over the past 80 years.

“M&D brings immense value to our organization. They’re a top-tier supplier for our network, and they’re top-quality diesel experts for our customers,” said Jim Pennig, vice president of business development for the VIPAR Heavy Duty Family of Companies. “Our leadership in providing best in class diesel engine parts and service is further strengthened with the addition of M&D. The independent aftermarket plays an essential role in the diesel engine segment and we will continue to lead the way as the preferred network for the industry’s powertrain solutions.”
