VIPAR Heavy Duty announced its director of operations, Tom Flicek, received the prestigious GenNext 4 Under 40 Award during the annual Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network Aftermarket Summit in Boston.
The award, now in its sixth year, honors “young professionals who are striving to make a difference and help lead the aftermarket into the future,” according to Trucks, Parts, Service, which sponsors the recognition. GenNext, a division of CVSN, is dedicated to recruiting, mentoring and educating the next generation of heavy-duty independent aftermarket leaders.
“We’re extremely proud of Tom and value his many contributions to our organization and our network,” said VIPAR Heavy Duty President and CEO Chris Baer. “For nearly 15 years Tom has held several cross-functional management positions and is now a member of our Leadership Team and director of operations for our Global Parts Network brake manufacturing facility and distribution center. We’ve always recognized his skills, abilities and strength in inspiring those around him. We’re very pleased the industry recognizes Tom and his many talents as well with the GenNext 4 Under 40 Award.”
Flicek joined VIPAR Heavy Duty in 2010 after graduating college. He held leadership positions in program management, accounting and I.T. before his current role as Director of Operations for the company’s manufacturing and distribution division, Global Parts Network. GPN serves the 920-plus VIPAR Heavy Duty and Power Heavy Duty distributors across North America through manufacturing brakes and full-line parts distribution.
“I’m honored and humbled to receive this great award, and very appreciative to be recognized by so many incredible friends and peers in what is the best industry in the world,” Flicek said. “I look forward to continuing to grow and give back to the aftermarket, especially through mentoring the next generation of leaders – and hopefully a future GenNext 4 Under 40 Award recipient!”
