Rudy Giuliani, the popular former mayor of New York City, will serve as the keynote speaker for the VIPAR Heavy Duty Annual Conference scheduled for Oct. 19-24 at the Marco Island Marriott in Marco Island, Fla. Giuliani’s presentation will address “Principled Leadership.” In addition, he will touch upon “Embracing the Entrepreneurial Spirit,” the theme for VIPAR Heavy Duty’s 25th anniversary and its 2014 Annual Business Conference.
Giuliani was mayor of New York City from 1993 to 2001, helping lead the city in its recovery from 9/11 as it faced its darkest hour when terrorists crashed planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Limited by New York City law to two terms as mayor, Giuliani formed Giuliani Partners in January 2002, quickly establishing the professional services firm as a leader in emergency preparedness, public safety, leadership during crises and financial management. Giuliani is also a partner in the law firm of Brockwell & Giuliani LLP, mainly serving clients in the energy and financial service industries.
“We are pleased to welcome Mayor Giuliani to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary,” said VIPAR Heavy Duty president Steve Crowley. “He was widely lauded for his steady hand during our country’s challenging times, and we look forward to the leadership insights he will share with us.”
Each year the Annual Business Conference brings together VIPAR Heavy Duty distributors, supplier partners and industry associates to exchange ideas and share information. The 2014 VIPAR Heavy Duty Annual Business Conference will include a general session, tradeshow, one-on-one stockholder/supplier partner meetings, the annual stockholder meeting, as well as networking events. Additionally, the conference will feature several value-added sessions.
A GenNext reception will take place during the annual business conference, and the group will host its own Young Leaders Forum luncheon for the second year in a row giving emerging leaders the opportunity to network with each other.
